UNIVERSITY ROMA TRE – Department of Architecture
Giovanni Longobardi is Professor of Architectural and Urban Composition in the Department of Architecture of the University of Roma Tre, where he teaches architectural design and typological features and morphological architecture. He is delegated by the Director of the Department from 2013 to coordinate the teaching of the degree course in Architectural Design.
He is a member of the board of the PhD in “Architecture: innovation and heritage” in consortium with the University of Bari. He is a member of the scientific committees of the advanced course in “Design Culture in Archaeology” and International Master “Art, Architecture, City” of the University Roma Tre.
He previously taught in the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Basilicata, Faculty of Arts, University of Naples “L’Orientale” and Faculty of Architecture of Palermo.
He has been involved in museological themes, theories of modernity in architecture, shapes of the contemporary city, projects for culture and heritage, essays on culture of living, exhibitions and realized projects.
He is the author, among other things, of the books: Toyo Ito. L’architettura evanescente”, “Pompei sostenibile”, “Musei. Manuale di progettazione”, “L’architettura non è un Martini”, “Campagne romane” igns (with Vieri Quilici and Giorgio Piccinato). He is also the director of the magazine “Inside & Beyond” (with Giovanni Caudo), for the publisher L’Erma di Bretschneider.
In 2015 he received the “Agritecure & Landscape” award, promoted by CNAPPC, Paysage Topscape and Milan Triennale, for an educational project on the integration of residence and agriculture.
